Last week I attended the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) annual conference in Atlanta, GA. In awe of all the creativity surrounding me by 800+ organizers, it once again quickly became apparent that organizing is not one-size-fits-all.
Not only were there organizers of all ages, sizes, and colors (I even saw red, blue, pink and purple hair - all on different people!), but the classes taught different techniques to conquer the organizing challenges we all face. I took one on Tactical Time Management, and one on Holistic Time Management.
The analogy of 3 + 3=6, but so does 2 + 4 works here - the answer is the same (conquering time management challenges) but the method is different for each of us.
Personally, Tactical Time Management wouldn't work for me, but I could see where it would be attractive to several of my clients. Much of what I bring to my organizing clients is a depth of knowledge of different tactics, encouraging them to think outside the box to solve challenges, in ways that fit their lifestyles.
What about you? Have you faced an organizing challenge and found a creative solution for it? Please share in the comments below - perhaps others can learn from your experience - I know I certainly will!
